Psychiatric ward in Serbia

This report was done in a psychiatric ward in Niš, in the South of Serbia. Conditions were terrible there during the embargo in the Yugoslavian war, when more than ten inmates died daily. All of them were sick, many suffered from open tuberculosis. There was no heating, so the temperature fell below zero in winter – that's why many patients stayed in their beds to protect themselves from the cold.
